Abstract

Background. Studies aimed at studying the improvement of specialized medical care for children in congenital clefts of the upper lip are relevant, as there is an increase in patients with congenital malformations of the maxillofacial region. Despite the existence of a large number of surgical procedures for eliminating clefts of the upper lip, many of them have a number of complications that develop in the postoperative period, leading to respiratory failure, aesthetic dissatisfaction, and the development of secondary deformations of the maxillofacial region. Similar studies in the Penza region in the recent period have not been conducted.
Materials and methods. A statistical analysis of data for the period of 2016 is carried out. – 6 months of 2019 obtained as a result of studying case histories of 36 patients with congenital clefts of the upper lip. The examination took into account gender, age, place of residence, diagnosis, heredity.
Results. This article displays a statistical analysis of data on some medical and social indicators: age and sex structure, morbidity structure, etiological factor. The main attention is paid to methods of eliminating congenital clefts of the upper lip. The article used the rationalization proposal No. 410 adopted by the Regional Clinical Hospital named after N. N. Burdenko and Penza State University Medical Institute under the name “Method of primary functional chelorinoseptoplasty” August 26, 2019. Complete restoration of the anatomical integrity of the upper lip with the elimination of skin deficiency, mucous membrane, the formation of a free vestibule of the oral cavity, restoration of the symmetry of the nose and patency of the nasal passages. An important factor is that the method of functional chelorinoseptoplasty leads to the correct development of the bones of the maxillofacial region, to a decrease in the number of postoperative complications, to the prevention of the development of secondary facial deformations, and allows to achieve better aesthetic and functional results.
Conclusions. In the course of the study, a relationship was established between etiological factors and the incidence rate of patients with congenital clefts of the upper lip. A comparative analysis of surgical procedures and the age of patients with cheiloplasty performed in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery Penza Regional Clinical Hospital named after N. N. Burdenko. Proposed areas of application for the results of the study: pediatric maxillofacial surgery, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics.
